Take the eyebrows of your choice and tape them FIRMLY to the roll of tape itself. I outlined the shape I wanted so that I would know where I shortened the brows.

Next take an exacto and gently cut through the paper. With an exacto and paper it's better to make several shallow cuts very slowly rather than to just make one deep cut.

Here's what the roll of tape looks like now. See how when I cut through the eyebrows it translated to the roll of tape? I then went through and scratched at the pattern a little more and then peeled off the eyebrow shapes. Once they were peeled I peeled off the whole section of tape to use.

tip: You'll see what I did in the next picture, but it's the result of pulling the tape off the roll too quickly. GENTLY and SLOWLY pull the tape off the roll or you'll rip your stencil like genius me.

Lay the middle of your eyebrows in the middle of the bridge of the doll's nose. I cut a carrot out so that the tape would lay flatter- kind of like a domino mask(think Robin or the Lone Ranger). See that floppy piece on the left? That's where I pulled too fast and ripped it.

Go really really slowly and gently laying down your stencil. You can always pull it back up and reposition it. I think I repositioned that little rip four or five times!

This is also the point at which if you want to change the angle or spacing of the brows you should do it. If you wanted to respace or turn the eyebrows at an agle you'll just have to cut them apart!

I ended up removing the back of Ane's head so I could see his eyes through the tape! That worked well. Now I can see how far and how OFF the eyebrows are/were.

When they're positioned where you want them, go ahead and pencil in your lines. If you want to paint your eyebrows, you can paint them now. Let the paint dry before you remove the stencil or it may smear. :/
